It is a very good idea to include stretching exercises, or extensions, in any exercise regimen. When selecting stretching exercises, be very careful of those that overdo the stretch between individual fingers, especially between the 4th and 5th fingers. This is one of the fastest ways to become injured. Therefore, adapt any printed exercise accordingly, and decrease the span for small hands.
