Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714 – 1788) was the second son of Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach. He was an influential and prolific composer who was writing at a time of transition between the baroque style and the classical style. His personal approach has come to be called empfindsamer Stil or 'sensitive style'.
