Introduction

There are many different and often conflicting schools and traditions of piano playing, each having produced virtuosos. This proves one thing - there is no such thing as the one correct piano technique. Technique is individual, so rather than offer a one-size-fits-all recipe for playing, I am in favour of a more eclectic approach that respects tradition yet that is informed by modern knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology.
