Introduction

This arrangement for piano by Clem Virgo is from the first part of the second movement of Mozart’s popular orchestral serenade, Eine kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music), written in 1787. “Romanze” (romance) is a simple vocal-type of piece for voice or instruments, often with a tender, lyrical character. Teaching Note The marking is andante (moderately slow walking pace) with a grazioso direction, and while the feeling of the piece is lyrical some rhythmic lift and movement forwards are necessary.
