In performance of this piece the trills should sound and feel free, but since trills are always made up of a finite number of notes it is a good idea to organise them rhythmically by practising a variety of different measured possibilities. Then, when you perform, you can just allow the trill to happen freely. As a general principle, the faster the note value, the lighter the touch.
