Chapter 21 - Beaming
When notes are beamed correctly, it should be easy for the performer to see each beat of the bar. As a general rule, notes should be beamed in groups of one beat. In simple time signatures, this will often mean that notes are beamed in crotchet groups. In compound time signatures, this will often mean that notes are beamed in dotted crotchet groups. Occasionally, beams can extend for two beats (four quavers in a row in ) or even three beats (six quavers in a row in )....
