Introduction and Analysis

Here I look at the importance of analysing the score away from the piano before embarking on the technical/physical work at the instrument. Don’t be scared of the term “analysis”. There are many different types of analysis, and it can be personal to you. If you do not have a background in music theory or harmony, do not despair – you will still be able to see behind the notes on the page and come up with your own understanding of the design features.
