Joan Last’s Freedom Technique series provides and excellent, no-nonsense approach to technical development in the form of short, focussed exercises. The very first exercise is a rotation exercise, designed to be taught by rote in the first stages of piano lessons. In this video, I also look at a very useful exercise for the elastic wrist, and a drop-roll exercise with shifting accents.
