Direction of Rotations for Single Notes

To sense the free rotation of the forearm, try this simple exercise. Close the fallboard, or do this on a table. Keeping elbow in one spot as you rotate the forearm, swing the thumb into the air and back to the fallboard. You will notice the elbow stays in one spot. In this video, I’m going to look a little more at how the rotations work. Don’t worry about remembering all of this, all will become clear as we proceed through this module.
